What made you realize that music was your path?
I have been involved in the arts since I was 8 or 9 years old. Music and entertainment has always been a genuine love of mine. I can’t think of an exact moment when I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life. I always dance. I always sing. I’ve just evolved and gotten better at my craft with time.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
A lot of my music is slow or mid-tempo. I love to go in the studio and create something people can just chill and groove to.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
There are many artists that I like, but I love male R&B soul singers. A few of my musical influences include Robin Thicke, Raheem DeVaughn, and Justin Timberlake.
What makes your music unique?
My music is very melodic. If you listen you will hear how layered and textured my vocals are on each record.
Has there been one particular moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
I’ve had the opportunity to open for a few really great R&B artists so I am extremely proud of that, but the moment I am most proud of is right now. It has been a long road to completion of this project and it is a great feeling to have the completed work available for others to enjoy.
Who would you like to work with in the near future? I would like to work with Raheem DeVaughn in the “near” future. Fingers crossed.
What’s next for you? My EP (I’m In Love with SAM) will be available on iTunes December 2013. I will begin work on my next project in the spring while actively promoting the EP.
